Identify the type of mismatch
Separate the wrong company from the wrong moment. A business outside your territory or size range is a fit issue. A suitable company with weak or old evidence is a timing issue. A missing contact is a different problem again.
This distinction helps you adjust the right part of the workflow rather than narrowing every rule at once.
Make exclusions explicit
Document competitors, unsuitable sectors, unsupported territories and other clear disqualifiers. Where relevant to your process, identify existing customers or accounts your team should not prospect. Check how those exclusions are represented in the approved Mission.
Do not depend on an unstated assumption that Tandem will recognise every business your team wants to avoid.
Change one thing and review
Review the Company Brain and the Mission interpretation together. Tighten a single ambiguous rule, then compare the next suitable set of results with your original criteria.
Record why an opportunity was rejected. Clear feedback such as “outside our territory” is more useful than an unexplained dismissal, and it keeps learning connected to your real commercial judgement.
These guides explain Tandem’s product approach and the packages described on this website. Feature access, connections and execution controls depend on your agreed package and workspace configuration.
